Working in Walsall
Walsall has a large stock of Victorian and Edwardian terraces close to the centre, inter-war and post-war semis across Bloxwich, Aldridge, Pelsall and Rushall, and plenty of commercial and industrial premises near the M6.
Many Walsall terraces have flat-roofed back additions and dormers that are hard to reach, so we plan access and material deliveries carefully. Walsall's Victorian and Edwardian terraces often have slate roofs, shared chimneys and back additions with small flat roofs that need regular attention.
In Walsall (WS1 to WS9), Walsall Council handles both planning applications and highways matters such as scaffold licences, skips on the road and dropped kerbs. Our yard at Kimberley Business Park is around seventeen miles south via the A461.
How we work
Details make or break a flat roof: drip trims, upstands, abutments, lead or GRP flashings and outlets. We spend time on each, then leave the roof clean and photographed so you have a record of the finished work.
Most failed flat roofs we see were laid straight over old decking with no insulation and poor falls. Where it makes sense we convert them to a warm roof, with insulation above the deck and a new waterproof layer on top, which improves comfort and helps with Building Regulations when a roof is replaced.
