Working in Wolverhampton
Wolverhampton combines dense Victorian terraces near the centre with larger period villas in Tettenhall and Penn, inter-war and post-war estates across the rest of the city, and a lot of commercial property along the ring road and M54 corridor.
In Wolverhampton's terraced streets the roofs, chimneys and gutters are often shared or close to neighbours, so access, party-wall details and safe working over pavements matter as much as the roofing itself. Wolverhampton's period villas in Tettenhall and Penn have large slate and clay tile roofs with ornate ridges and lead details, while the terraces need practical repairs and re-roofs.
In Wolverhampton (WV1 to WV11), City of Wolverhampton Council handles both planning applications and highways matters such as scaffold licences, skips on the road and dropped kerbs. Our yard at Kimberley Business Park is about twenty miles from our yard via Cannock.
How we work
On older roofs we try to save what is sound and replace only what is failing, matching tiles and slates where we can. On new roofs and full replacements we use breathable membranes, treated battens and properly fixed dry or wet verges and ridges, so the whole roof is built to last.
We inspect from scaffold or a safe access point, photograph what we find and talk you through it, so you can see why a repair or replacement is recommended. Because scaffolding comes from our sister company, Staff4dshire Scaffolding, access is booked in-house and we avoid the usual wait for a third-party scaffolder.
