Working in Lichfield
Lichfield is a cathedral city with a large conservation area of Georgian and older brick buildings around the Close, Bore Street and Dam Street. Around that core are 20th-century estates such as Boley Park, Leomansley and Curborough, and big new developments at Streethay and on the southern edge of the city.
Older properties in Lichfield often have long pipe runs, solid walls and awkward flue positions, and in the conservation area a visible flue terminal needs some thought. We plan the boiler position around that. In Lichfield's older streets near the cathedral, flue positions and visible pipework need care in the conservation area, while newer homes at Streethay and on the south side of the city usually suit simple combi or system boiler replacements.
For Lichfield (WS13 and WS14), planning applications are handled by Lichfield District Council, and highways matters such as scaffold licences, skips on the road and dropped kerbs by Staffordshire County Council. Our yard at Kimberley Business Park is about nine miles down the A51 from our Rugeley yard.
How we work
We survey first: heat demand, flue position, gas supply, condensate route and the condition of the radiators and pipework. That lets us give a fixed price that covers what the job really needs, with no surprises on the day.
A new boiler on a dirty system will not last, so on every installation we cleanse the system and fit a filter, then set up the controls and show you how to use them before we leave.
